ODE TO MATT

I couldn't be more proud of the dad Matt has grown into. It was easy to see that Matt would be a fun dad. I didn't foresee his strong desire to protect & provide for his family.

I am so thankful he is always looking for extra little ways he can provide. Not only looking for ways to often earn a little extra income but he also looks for fun things for us to experience. Matt really has a strong desire to take care of all the members of his family and do it wholly. If there's something he knows we want or need, he works real hard to try to provide in that way- even if that means to do it creatively!

And Matt has always had an interest in martial arts. But after becoming a dad, he wants to keep training his mind and body to be able to better protect his family. Matt has been very blessed to find a wonderful martial arts program that challenges him physically, provides community & keeps him on his toes. Not only does Matt want this training to be able to help him better protect his family, but he wants to be available for justice wherever the need pops up. I'm so proud of him!

What I think is fun is seeing the girls grow in their trust in him. Of course more so with Zoe-- she knows there are certain things she can only get from daddy. Daddy is strong, daddy is fun, daddy takes her on special adventures. The joy on her face when daddy comes home is so perfect and priceless. Daddy is something special. It's my favorite when Matt takes the girls on very special dates and helps them to understand they are lovely. This is so important & valuable!

Matt, you are a great dad!!! Thanks for being my partner in parenting, life and love!!! You are the best!

Gotta go ta North Dakota!

Zoe, Sophia & I just returned from our somewhat spontaneous trip to North Dakota. We had a really nice time! Highlights include:

Swimming

Great Aunt Brenda's Farm

Hanging out with cousins

Dakota's Birthday

North Dakota Sunsets

Also, I was really excited to find this fun little tea shop in Bismarck. It's called Steep Me A Cup of Tea. I found a fabulous tea there called Blue Clouds over Dakota. They had several other ND themed teas including Dakota Sunrise & Dakota Sunset (with chocolate hues). If you're in Bismarck & love tea, check it out.
